Our Story
Before Amistad was a brand, it was a friendship.
We grew up side by side, sharing classrooms, streets, dreams, and struggles from as far back as we can remember. Life wasn’t always kind, but it was shared — every challenge faced together, every small win celebrated together. Through the noise of growing up, one thing was always constant: we had each other.
As time passed, life asked us to leave the place that shaped us. We said goodbye to our island, our people, and the freedom we didn’t yet realize we would miss so deeply. One of us moved to the United Kingdom, the other to Australia — different corners of the world, chasing the hope of a better future.
Distance gave us opportunity, but it also gave us longing.
No matter how far we went, the same thought kept returning — the pull of Sri Lanka. The warmth, the freedom, the identity it gave us. We realized that everything we had become was rooted there. And we knew we wanted to give something back to the place — and the bond — that built us.
That’s where Amistad was born.
Amistad is our way of expressing friendship in its purest form. It’s not just clothing — it’s memory, struggle, loyalty, and growth, woven into fabric. We chose apparel because we believe what you wear says something about who you are. Style is personal. It carries confidence, character, and story. And we’ve always believed that fashion is one of the quietest, yet strongest, forms of self-expression.
Every design we create is guided by that belief. Every piece is intentional. Even our logo — minimal in form, deep in meaning — represents connection, balance, and the unseen bond that holds everything together. Its full story will be revealed in time, through our drops and across our socials.
Amistad also lives beyond clothing. It’s a community. A family.
We call it Klub Amistad — a space for people who value connection, authenticity, and the bonds that shape who they are.
We’ve lost many things along the way. But friendship remained.
And from that, everything else grew.
In 2026, we release our first T-shirts to the world.
